In lieu of Earth Day on April 22, Aveda is celebrating its annual Earth Month, and this year The Studio is participating like never before.
Guest service team member Marley Walters has taken the cause head-on, creating a calendar of events and several ways that make it easy to participate. The salon calls her the “Earth Month Champion.”
First off, The Studio is having a raffle this month only to win free haircuts for a year. That’s right. AN ENTIRE YEAR OF FREE HAIRCUTS.
On the 16th, we will host a bake sale. Guests also are welcome to bring goodies for the bake sale.
On the 23rd, some Studio team members will be making an appearance at the farmer’s market in downtown Hattiesburg where they will be doing face painting and mermaid hair with hair chalk and braiding. The booth will be taking donations for Earth Month.
The team also is planning to host face painting at Live @ Five downtown.
Also, massage therapist Brian Clifton is doing chair massages for a $1 per minute all month to benefit the cause.
All proceeds from these fundraisers go toward the Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper and the Gulf Restoration Network which both work to keep our local waters clean.
As always, the Aveda Earth Month candles are for sale for $12 with 100% of the profit going to the Global Greengrants Fund which is specifically helping families in Madagascar have access to clean water.
The Studio also is taking general donations for any or all of these causes at the decision of the donor.
