You read that right!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The Studio will be opening its second Aveda location, coming back to our roots in Laurel, MS!
The new salon will be named Studio R3. The “3” signifies our 3-day work week model we will be putting into place in this smaller version of our primary location. The “R” stands for the new motto we are living by: “Repair. Restore. Renew.”
Owner Lisa Cochran, who is known for her quick, rash, risk-taking nature, says she has carefully weighed out this business endeavor more so than she has with anything else in her life. After many prayers, considerations, and in-depth meetings, e-mails, and phone calls, Cochran and The Studio team have jumped on board this exciting new chapter for this quickly growing company.
Unlike our well-known Hattiesburg location, Studio R3 will be smaller and more intimate. The space is currently occupied by Quarter Century clothing store, which over the next couple weeks will move all its contents over to the adjoining side, making room for Studio R3. The salon will maintain the location’s boutique-like feel.
The building is over 100 years old and has lived several lives including once being a kiln, a restaurant, clothing boutiques, and now a salon! All of the exposed brick, simplistic lighting, and rustic elements are there to stay.
Studio R3 is projected to open its doors on Nov. 6, 2014, with a holiday open house on the 9th, “just in time for the Aveda holiday gift sets you’ve come to love over the years,” Cochran says. The salon will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for business.
“We’re really excited to be expanding,” guest services manager Savannah Smith says. “This new location will make a trip to our salon more convenient for all our clients who currently drive from Laurel and other nearby areas.”
