‘Tis the time to start gearing up for those holiday parties! While we preoccupy ourselves with planning our outfits to a T, it’s easy to forget the most important part: THE HAIR, of course.
Most anyone would agree that no matter how great your outfit looks, you just don’t feel complete unless your hair looks awesome.

In the morning before work, stylist Kasha Hughes of The Studio is a master at throwing some 5-minute curls in her hair that appear like they took a half hour. This week she offers us some suggestions on holiday hair style options that are quick and easy!

When we think holiday hair, we almost often think curls.
“Loose curls always look good,” Hughes says. “And for a nighttime event, they go nicely into a bun.”

Hughes says the key to any good updo is getting a bend in the hair with a curling iron or velcro rollers, which helps the hair to hold in place.
“Also an elegant ponytail is classic, whether it’s a sleek Kim Kardashian look or one with some volume on top,” she says.

Hughes suggests applying Aveda Volumizing Tonic and Phomollient in the hair when it’s wet, then after it’s blow-dried in using Pure Abundance Hair Potion at the roots to encourage even more volume and texture.
“Another thing that is simple and easy, is to spray Volumizing Tonic at the roots when it’s dry, put it up in velcro rollers, and blow dry,” Hughes says. “The product is heat-activated so it will give instant volume coupled with the rollers.”

For a more sleek look, Hughes suggests Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep, Glossing Straightener, and/or Naturally Straight.
Some great choices for finishing products are Air Control or Control Force hair sprays depending on how much hold you need for the look.
Hughes encourages people to look to Pinterest for new fresh ideas.
“Remember to pair your holiday hair style with an Aveda holiday lip gloss,” she adds. “Choose to either have a bold eye or bold lip for your makeup. To me, a sleek hairstyle with a smoky eye looks great.”
Aveda has several limited edition holiday makeup colors in for the season including lip colors Nepali Cherry and Rose Blush.
